Connect Your 3CX Phone System to the Australia’s Telecom Network Using Breeze Connect SIP Trunk
Setting up a “3CX FREE SMB” is easy, but making and receiving calls through the Australian telephone network requires a SIP trunk. This guide will walk you through configuring a Breeze Connect SIP trunk in 3CX free or commercial versions.
To continue you will need a compatible and active SIP trunk.

If you have already installed your “3CX SMB Free” instance please jump to Step 2.
✅ Step 1 – Sign Up for 3CX SMB Free

- Scroll to the right of the page.
- Enter your name and email, then click “Let’s Go”.

- Enter the verification code emailed to you, then press “Submit”.

You’ll receive a Welcome Email with your 3CX URL like: https://1234.3cx.cloud/
Log in with the email and password you created.
📞 Step 2 – Add Breeze Connect SIP Trunk
Now you need to add your Breeze Connect SIP trunk so you can make and receive external calls. Before continuing click here to order your SIP trunk.
- Inside 3CX, click the Admin gear icon.
- Go to Voice & Chat → click “Add Trunk” (blue button).
- Choose Australia as the country, and Breeze as the provider.
- Click OK.

🔐 Step 3 – Enter SIP Trunk Registration Details
- Give the trunk a name (e.g., “Breeze PAYG 4 Lines”).
- In the Main Trunk Number and Authentication ID fields, enter the SIP Username you’ve received from CALLPRO by email.
If you haven’t ordered your SIP trunk yet, click here to order it first before continuing. - In Authentication Password, enter the password sent to your mobile via SMS.

☎️ Step 4 – Add Your Phone Numbers (DIDs)
- Go to the DID Numbers tab.
- Add your numbers in E164 format, like:
- 614xxxxxxxx for mobile numbers
- 612xxxxxxxx for Sydney Local Number
- 611300xxxxxx for 1300/1800 numbers

This is required for Breeze Connect to recognise and route your calls correctly.
⚙️ Step 5 – Set Call Capacity and Caller ID
- Go to the Options tab.
- Set the number of Simultaneous Calls based on your plan (e.g., 4 for a PAYG 4-line trunk).
- Scroll down to Caller ID Control, and set your Default Outbound Caller ID in E164 format (e.g., 612xxxxxxx).
Note: 1300/1800 numbers can’t be used as caller ID, but your calls will still show correctly to the receiver. - Click Save.

📤 Step 6 – Add Outbound Rules
Outbound rules tell 3CX how to format and route outgoing calls. The menu should look like this after adding all rules;

Go to Call Routing → Outbound Rules and create the following rules:
🔺 Emergency (000)
- Rule Name: Emergency
- Dialed Number: 000
- Length of digits: 3
- Select the SIP trunk and prepend 61

🏠 Local Numbers
- Rule Name: Local
- Length of digits: 8
- Prepend 61 + your state code (e.g., 2 for Sydney, 3 for Melbourne)

📱 Mobiles & National
- Rule Name: Mobile & Interstate
- Match numbers starting with 02,03,04,07,08 [copy the exact same pattern with “,” between prefixes]
- Strip the first digit “0”, and prepend 61 (e.g., 0412345678 becomes 61412345678)

☎️ 1300/13/1800 Numbers
- Rule Name: Special Numbers
- Starting with 13,1300,1800 numbers
- Perpend 61 in front (e.g., 1300123456 becomes 611300123456)

🌏 Already E164 Format
- Rule Name: E164 Direct
- Match numbers starting with 61
- No changes needed – just route through your SIP trunk

✅ Done!
You’re now ready to use your 3CX system with Breeze Connect to make and receive calls across Australia.
